    Job Description
    The Direct Marketing Group Manager is responsible for planning and execution of consumer marketing strategies and tactics designed to drive leads and profitable sales growth.

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Manage a $10-$15 million annual marketing budget, and a team of direct marketers, while optimizing cost per lead and cost per sale
    • Deliver qualified leads to the inside telesales team by optimizing the media mix including paid search, other online media, direct mail, direct response television, alternate media, print, etc.
    • Deliver online self-service sales by driving traffic to and through the online quote and apply tool
    • Manage marketing vendor and agency selections, negotiations, and contracting
    • Manage relationship and performance of marketing agencies and vendors including agency of record, media buyers, print production, consultants, and more
    • Track marketing spend against annual and project budget plans, providing monthly and quarterly
    • variance reporting, as well as ongoing evaluation of program efficiency opportunities
    • Facilitate executive leadership marketing plan discussions, results reviews, and plan change proposals
    • Approve creative briefs that clearly communicate campaign strategy, program objectives, audience, timeline, budget, and success metrics
    • Oversee creative development by agencies, participate in production (direct response television shoots,photo shoots, web development, etc.) and approve new creative

    Job Requirements

    • Qualifications/Education Desired:
    • Minimum of five years in a client side or agency role dedicated to direct marketing (10+ years preferred)
    • Experience managing at least a $2 million annual budget ($10+ million preferred)
    • Minimum of five years managing marketing agencies and vendors (10+ years preferred)
    • Minimum of two years managing direct reports (5+ years preferred)
    • Ability to independently evaluate marketing plans and processes, and recommend improvements
    • Strong project management and organizational skills •    Superior communication and presentation skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Marketing, Business, etc.) Direct Marketing Group Manager, Individual & Family Plans
